Own Your Own Data
As part of our commitment to transparency, we’re helping businesses take control of their data. This is important for three reasons: (1) it’s the right thing to do, (2) it’s part of most accepted cybersecurity best practices, and (3) it is a requirement for many regulated firms.
When you normally encrypt a message with XQ, the key is posted to our server for retrieval on the other end by the recipient. However, for enterprise customers, we offer the option of running XQ’s software directly in their AWS or Azure server. Doing so gives firms direct control over their keys and effectively takes XQ out of the loop.
Self Protecting Data
Direct control over your keys allows you to take unilateral action to protect your business in the event of a breach in a partner or client firm. Suppose that you discover that a vendor has had a security breach. In normal circumstances, all of your communications with them would be compromised, including invoices, financial information, and client data. Hackers can use that information to create sophisticated phishing attacks to harm your customers.
With XQ the story plays out completely differently. Our key control features allow you to unilaterally revoke the keys to all your messages with the vendor. Put simply, you can make all of the messages disappear, an impossibility with normal messaging protocols. Now your, your customers, and your partners’ data is safe and isn’t imperiled by other organizations’ lax standards.
